- The daughter of Courtney Love and late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain told  Rolling Stone , "I don't really like Nirvana that much [grins]. Sorry, promotional people, Universal. I'm more into Mercury Rev, Billie Eilish , Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre [laughs]." - Still, Frances Bean admitted she cries every time she hears "Dumb" from Nirvana's "In Utero" album, and describes "Territorial Pissings" off "Nevermind" as a "great song." About "Dumb," Bean said, "It's a stripped-down version of Kurt's perception of himself -- of himself on drugs, off drugs, feeling inadequate to be titled the voice of a generation." "He's larger than life and our culture is obsessed with dead musicians," Frances Bean added to Rolling Stone. "We love to put them on a pedestal. If Kurt had just been another guy who abandoned his family in the most awful way possible . . . But he wasn

- In a recent debate among rock music fans, Brian May of Queen was named the greatest guitarist of all time. Now, when appearing on The Howard Stern Show to share his thoughts and discuss his favourite guitarists, May revealed that he believes Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain produced “some of the greatest guitar music of all time”. - When discussing the poll that named him number one, May stated: “I take everything like that with a pinch of salt, really, ’cause you can’t say who’s best. The nice thing about guitar playing is that everybody’s different. You can’t really rank people. Of course, I’ve got my favourites too. But the fact that people put me in that position makes me smile. It’s a lovely feeling.” - After listing his favourite guitarists, which included Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix, he described the importance of Cobain. “I don’t think any guitarist should feel like they have anything to prove. Kurt Cobain is a great example. There’s not a lot of technical stuff there,

- "It is one of my life’s greatest heartbreaks that Kurt isn’t still here to write more amazing songs" Dave Grohl has reflected on Kurt Cobain‘s seismic musical impact, as well as discussing the emotional toll of Nirvana‘s untimely split. Speaking on Apple Music’s Medicine At Midnight Radio, Grohl also reflected on how the band were initially surprised by their rise to global fame in the early 1990s - “We were still in our van and we were just watching this happen in front of us,” he said. “The shows were getting bigger,” he explains. “The crowds were getting bigger. The crowds outside of the shows were bigger than the crowds inside the shows. We could see that something was happening, but we really never expected that it would turn out to be as big as it was. I don’t think any of us expected that.” Reflecting on the band’s split after Kurt Cobain took his own life in 1994, Grohl said their untimely break-up was one of his “life’s greatest heartbreaks”. WATCH: The probable Nirvana biopic with Brad Pitt in 1999, but Courtney Love declined..

- If you shout your possible biographical film about Nirvana with Brad Pitt as Kurt Cobain. Former wife Courtney Love, however, disagrees. The wave of musical biographies that have been reaching the general public in recent months has not stopped. After the successful Bohemian Rhapsody in Queen, and The Dirt in Mötley Crüe, now I could also go to biopic in Nirvana. - At the moment we have nothing certain, only rumors, about the realization of the film about the very famous rock band of the 90s. The particular thing that is wasted is the voice in relation to the name of the actor who will play Kurt Cobain, the leader Nirvana leader who died on April 5, 1994. And among the many names, the one that appeared most was Brad Pitt. A vague conformity (particularly with Pitt when he was young) is undeniable. But there are those who have launched against this possibility. Haz was personally personalized with Curtney Love, Cobain's ex-wife and the leader of the Hole, at a recent event wi

- Former The Germs  guitarist Pat Smear defended Kurt Cobain 's guitar-playing abilities, explaining how technical proficiency isn't what the man was about. He tells Fact Mag: "Kurt Cobain's improvisations are very impressive guitar solos because it's more about his energy, his looseness, not trying to impress you with the flying fingers or whatever. - "Not adhering to things like staying in the right key - just play whatever note you want. That's how it is in electronic music." Pat continued: "That's why I've always been very careful about how I incorporate guitar into electronic music. I don't want to make a spectacle of myself as a guitarist in the way that I did when I was in Foo Fighters. I wanted to be inside the music, not standing outside of it to grab your attention." Pat continued: "You can't possibly appeal to people and be sincere all the time. Oftentimes the best musicians have to hide themselves in o

- Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was a man of strong principles. He was a man who knew what he believed in, knew what he considered to be the morally right thing and he was never afraid to make himself known. With this in mind, Cobain, on   stage with his Nirvana bandmates  during a show in Oakland on New Year’s Eve in 1993, confronted a male fan in the crowd who was allegedly groping a female in the front row during a gig. - Never shy to make his opinions on the difficult topics known, Cobain passionately approached themes of women equality and, after being drawn into a conversation about rape because of the band’s most famous song, went as far to offer progressive thoughts on a seriously distressing conversation. In an interview with  NME  back in 1991, Cobain explained his thoughts on how he believed society should look to eliminate sexual assault and rape. One of the most important factors in eradicating sexual assault, he believed, was educating men about rape. The musician spo

October 27, a month after Nevermind had been released, Nirvana headlined at the Palace Theatre, which had 2,200 seats, the biggest place Nirvana had headlined up until that moment, and the show quickly sold out. The band had been consistently playing great shows and this was no exception. Backstage afterward, Eddie Rosenblatt told me that he had come with Axl Rose and asked if he could bring him into the dressing room to say hi to Kurt. When I conveyed this request, Kurt grimaced and said he really didn’t want to meet the Guns N’ Roses singer. I didn’t want to put Geffen’s pres

- Frances Bean admitted she cries every time she hears "Something in the Way" from Nirvana's Frances says she didn't feel weird for not having that interest that teenagers showed to her father's music. “I would feel weirder if I had been his fan. I was 15 when I realized I couldn't escape him. Even when I was in a car and my radio was on, there was my father. He has reached beyond his death, our culture is obsessed with dead musicians. We love putting them on a pedestal. If Kurt had been another man who had abandoned his family in the worst possible way ... but it was not. He inspired people and put him on a pedestal, which made him "San Kurt." He got bigger even after his death, it didn't seem like he could become bigger, but it was. ” - "He's larger than life and our culture is obsessed with dead musicians," Frances Bean added to Rolling Stone. - The Real Reason Nirvana Covered The Man Who Sold The World By David Bowie  Grunge music was at its height when Nirvana recorded their 1993 masterpiece Unplugged album at Sony Music Studios in New York City, less than 6 months before Kurt Cobain's tragic death in April, 1994. In 2019 the album celebrated its 25th anniversary, and it's safe to say that Kurt himself would probably be stunned at the lasting legacy of his moving, soulful performance on the night of the recording. The unplugged session cemented Nirvana in history as not only as a potent, aggressive musical force among the landscape of youth culture in the 90's, but as an earnest, gifted group of talented songwriters to be taken seriously for decades to come.     Even among peers like Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains, who also did unplugged albums for MTV, the Nirvana Unplugged album stands out, and a large part of that is due not only to Nirvana's original songs such as "About a Girl," "On a Pl
