The Nirvana song Kurt Cobain called “happy happiness”

Imagen
- Very little of Nirvana’s discography could be categorised as ‘happy’. Nirvana popularised alternative rock music in the 1990s, pushing into mainstream commercial success with their loud, grungy riffs, but were characterised by their harsh, raw lyrics surrounding themes of rape, isolation, and mental illness. The band’s final single release in 1993 was no different. The double A-side featured ‘Rape Me’ and ‘All Apologies’ from the band’s third and final studio album, In Utero. ‘Rape Me’ was a bold statement about sexual violence, also thought to double as a song about Cobain’s struggle with fame. Turning the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ riff on its head, the track features unrelenting lyrics as Cobain repeatedly wails, “R**e me”. - The accompanying final single was ‘All Apologies’, a slightly calmer song which started out as a Beatles-esque folk-inspired track. In its final studio version, the recording also featured Kera Schaley on the cello. It seems to chart Cobain’s struggle w

Kurt Cobain: This was his favorite Metallica album

Imagen
- Kurt Cobain  never had a problem publicizing his influences or the bands he admired.  His tastes were as varied as they were interesting, but the reality is that  he was never very close to metal and its ramifications.  By the time  Nirvana   was on the rise, metal and hard rock had been taken over by the glam aesthetic, which Cobain loathed and repudiated.  Even so, within the catalog of bands that already had their place on the scene, there was one for which Kurt felt a particular appreciation:  Metallica  .  As  Far Out  recalls , Cobain was a fan of the group, with whom he had a cordial relationship. - Kirk Hammett recalls Cobain's favorites Cobain's closeness to Metallica was such that confessional talks between musicians arose on several occasions, where they also gave their opinions about each other's work.  As the aforementioned medium explains, on one occasion the lead guitarist of Metallica,  Kirk Hammett  , mentioned in an interview that Kurt had told hi

Billy Corgan remembers what he felt when Kurt Cobain died

- Both  Billy Corgan  and  Kurt Cobain  were two iconic figures in the world of rock in the 1990s. While each left their own mark on music and developed their own artistic style, there are certain similarities and connections between them that have shaped a curious enmity. - The musicians emerged at a pivotal moment for alternative music and grunge: Corgan alongside  The Smashing Pumpkins  and Cobain  as the frontman and vocalist for  Nirvana  .  Both groups achieved great commercial success and were considered part of the vanguard of the musical movement that was brewing at the time. a great opponent Now, in a recent interview with Zane Lowe for  Apple Music 1  ,  Corgan has opened up about Cobain's death, not only confessing that he cried, but also that he felt he had lost "a great opponent"  .  The musician said, "I want to beat the best. I don't like winning the competition because it's just me and a bunch of idiots." On the other hand, he rev

Kurt Cobain's (Nirvana) pick considered the most expensive in the world: "I had never seen anything like it"

Imagen
- A pick used by Kurt Cobain has been auctioned for $14,678.  The leader of Nirvana gave it signed to a lucky man or woman who keeps it like gold on a cloth.  Although that autograph is not what makes it unique, it is believed to be one of the first authentic signatures of the band shortly after their  debut album 'Bleach' was released, that is, even before Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters ) joined the band. As  Loudwire  states , this guitar-playing tool reached fans after Nirvana recorded the demo for what would later become their most celebrated album: '  Nevermind  '.  The auction took place through the Iconic Auctions platform, and ended on June 10.  This collector's item includes, as we mentioned before, Cobain's signature and  a hand-drawn drawing of the turtle that appears on Dunlop's picks  and the Tortex inscription  . - The letter of provenance for the pick says the person who purchased the item did so on "  Friday, April 6, 1990  ," alon

Courtney Love turns 59: life after Kurt Cobain

Imagen
- The controversial and enigmatic American singer and leader of the band Hole was known throughout her career for her  explosive personality and controversial comments  , including outright expressions of her contempt for various artists and musicians.  Courtney Love, who turns 59, is none other than the widow of Kurt Cobain.  And, apparently,  her life and her support are still as hectic as when she lived with the rocker who committed suicide in 1994. - "Just remember that no matter what happens, I love you."  Those were the last words she heard, on the other end of the phone, from the Nirvana singer, who was admitted to a detoxification clinic for drug abuse at the time. Four days later, on Tuesday, April 5, 1994, Kurt Cobain made a terrible decision: In the conservatory of his Seattle home, he picked up a shotgun and shot himself in the head.  He was 27 years old.  They had starred in a stormy marriage, including the loss of possession of his daughter. Why Did Kurt Cobain Write FUHGAWZ On His Shoe?

Imagen
- Kurt apparently wrote “FUHGAWZ” on his left shoe to make fun of Eddie Vedder.  Eddie once wrote “Fuhgawz” on his shirt just before a photo shoot, intentionally misspelling Fugazi.   Kurt apparently wrote it on his shoe to basically make fun of Vedder. - Both of Kurt’s shoes had it written on them in two different spellings of the name: The story behind this phrase is that Vedder intentionally wrote it on his shirt just before a photoshoot, misspelling the word Fugazi (punk band from Washington, DC.). - Since Kurt did not like Pearl Jam, he scratched his sneakers with hints in graffiti mode. -

Remembering the last Nirvana concert

- Nirvana's last concert is an event that remains etched in the memory of fans of the Seattle rock group.  The band led by Kurt Cobain made its last performance on March 1, 1994 at the Einz Terminal in Munich, Germany. This concert was the last chance for Nirvana fans to see the band live before Cobain's tragic death. - Nirvana's last concert was not planned  as such.  The band was on tour promoting their latest album, "  In Utero  ", when they decided to add one more date in Munich.  However, the band was dealing with internal problems, especially Cobain, who  was dealing with a heroin addiction  and depression. Backstage at the concert,  it is said that Cobain was very ill  and did not want to perform.  The band even considered canceling the show.  However,  Cobain decided to go on stage  after the band members talked to him and convinced him to do so.
